Original Flick's Tavern gone? Date: 07-02-2016 By: Colonel	I understand that the building having the original Flick's Tavern -- of Jean Shepherd fame -- located at 6449 Kennedy Avenue was recently torn down. Can someone confirm this and provide any details? Thanks.	4

Some research revealed that on September 6, 2002, two people were killed in gang-related shootings involving the Latin Kings and Gangster Disciple at "Brothers Two," the bar which followed Flick's at the same location (Kennedy and 165th). Shortly after the homicides, the bar reopened as "Sebastian's Place." In the early morning hours of November 19, 2004, further gang-related shootings involving factions of the Latin Kings resulted in the death of another patron of the bar, as well as injuries to others, including the bar's manager. Unable to overcome the subsequent loss of business because of numerous shootings and gang-related activity, it was reported that the bar completely closed on July 8, 2005.
