P.S.: I spelled Comiskey Park wrong. What can I say, I'm a Red Sox fan[:D]
12-02-2010 ( Reply#: 6271 )	emttt	Short version of the story... Steve Dahl was working for WDAI in Chicago when they switched from a Rock station to Disco. He was out of a job overnight. So when he got to the LOOP he had a vendeta against disco, basically because it sucked, and still does BTW. Anyway he had a promotion with the White Sox between games of a double header to blow up disco records. Anyone who brought a disco album to the park got in for 98 cents, the LOOP being 97.9 on the dial. Some fans got out of hand, and charged the field, but Steve had nothing to do with that. Steve spent over 30 years on the air in Chicago before he again lost his job overnight when the Jack took over at WCKG. He is podcasting from his home daily right now til they finish paying out his contract. If he goes to work at another station before the contract is over he will lose money, but they do allow him to podcast. Check him out at dahl.com....you will not be disappointed.

I was there, I think it was 77' or 78' It was a riot....lol Even got a free T-shirt there too....But I do remember,Chicago Police cracking 17 year olds over the head with billy clubs, and that was kinda tragic to witness..
