Just read that Fess (Davy Crockett/Dan'l Boone)Parker has died. There goes another hero. Sure brought back memories.
May he rest in peace.

My wife and I have been watching the Daniel Boone series we get from netflix. We've been watching it for a couple months now, alternating between other movies. It is amazing that so many shows were done in one season back then. We've watched probably 5 discs with 4 shows each, and are still on season one (in B&W which is OK with me).
It is so great to watch good TV shows, and Fess Parker seemed like a truly nice man, both on and off the screen. God rest your soul, Fess.

Davey Crockett episodes were my favorite things to watch on TV when I was real little. Other Disney stuff was great, too, like the movie, "Old Yeller," and the "Adventures of Spin and Marty" on Mickey Mouse Club.

Unfortunately they don't make shows like that anymore...find myself only watching old movies and old series when they are available. Can't remember watching any of the new sitcoms. I do love my DVR though, since so much of the old stuff comes on during the daytime.

I think we're a product of our childhoods in this area. I've been watching Perry Mason, Mr. Ed and Alfred Hitchcock Presents of late. I Should also mention the hour black and white Gunsmoke's on the westerns channel!
