Thank you both, and happy, safe traveling and EATING Thanksgiving to you and all this forum's bloggers . I am looking forward to thanksgiving dinner in Mt. Juliet, TN where my nephew-in-law has reigned as the chef for some 23 years. (He was born in Indiana, but not the Region.)
Our family gathering will include 4 Region Rats this year, with the youngest RR aged 48 and the oldest RR 69 (that would be moi). We are annually being outnumbered as the years go by and the younger generation (born in TN) begins to find friends and mates.
But, hey, the younger generation loves to watch A Christmas Story all day on Christmas Day, along with we who can identify. So, we will keep Da Region as it once was, alive in their hearts and minds. |

Tom,
Hope you have a happy thanksgiving, also. Just remember words of wisdom from the late Arthur Carlson(Gordon Jump); "as god is my witness I thought turkeys could fly!!

Bob, is there any chance your friend is from the Calumet Region? How long has that friend lived in Mt. Juliet? I don't live in Mt. Juliet, but it is all but officially a Nashville suburb and I have lived in this area now 48 years--went to college and grad school here, so do have some acquaintances from Mt. Juliet. |

No, he's originally from TX and moved to Mt Juliet from MO about 15 years ago. He lives in a mobile home park at the intersection of I40 and 171. |

Thanks, Tom, and I too hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. In the process of smokin' the turkey now. Tomorrow will be heading to my daughter's in Miami...nope I wish it was Florida, but it is Miami, OK. The weather is beautiful here though. I'll be the only full blood "Rat" at the table, but looking forward to dining with all of my family (my wife, 2 daughters, 2 grandsons, son-in-law, and father-in-law)and constructing a Lego masterpiece with the grandsons. Have a lot to be thankful for! |

Happy Thanksgiving to all the regulars on this forum.
Remember to thank Him who made our being possible.
Even in the midst of the recession, we in this country have much to be thankful for. And hopefully next year, it will include a recovering economy, more people working and fewer losing their homes.
God bless you all. -Duane |

I cound't say it any better! I'll be the only rat that I know of celebrating in Torrance, Ca today. As our tempatures climb toward 85 degrees today, I'll hope that everyone has the best day possible![8D] |

Happy Thanksgiving to all from Hurricane, West Virginia. I'm positive none of my fellow rats from da region, except maybe Tom J, has ever heard about this place. We will not get anywhere close to the Torrance high of 85 today, but just like everyone else, we have much to be thankful for.

Roger, I drove through the "metropolis" of Millersville, TN last week coming home from Portland, TN on good ole' Hwy 31! I had visited friends who once lived in Portage, IN. back in the day. |
