Sorder's BBQ Pit on Gostlin Date: 05-11-2008 By: pwalerow	Hello! This may be a long shot but does anyone remember Sorder's BBQ Pit on Gostlin in Hammond? It was there probably in the 40's and/or 50's. It was run by my grandfather Frank Sorder. Later he opened a Kentucky Fried Chicken store attached to the BBQ Pit. Frank was my mother's father. I know a bit about my father's side of the family (Walerowicz from Calumet City) but not much about my mothers. If anyone has any memories or information I would be very grateful. Thanks! Do you remember a place that was really a tavern, I believe, but they sold BBQ chickens that were DELICIOUS! We used to get two of those chickens, and I would eat one myself and help Mom and Dad eat the other one! That is the TRUTH. (The chickens were not real big ones.) I'm sort of thinking the name of the place might have been Tyson's. It was in Cal City, but I'm not sure which street, altough I THINK it might have been Sibley.
